What is Inferno Hot Pilates?

Hot Pilates – a 60-minute, intense yet low-impact workout in a room heated to 35 degrees Celsius with 40% humidity.

It is a training system that combines Pilates principles with high-intensity interval training while remaining gentle on the body. This intense full-body workout was designed to strengthen the muscles, increase flexibility and improve health and well-being.

Inferno Hot Pilates
How does Inferno Hot Pilates work?

Inferno Hot Pilates combines cardio and muscle training through a fast, effective workout. It is a combination of high-intensity interval training (HIIT), the Pilates principle of body alignment and cardio.

This type of training keeps the heart rate high, strengthens the body and burns fat!

The result: we create long, lean muscles while the body is toned and strengthened at the same time. The heat loosens the muscles and the humidity makes you sweat. The elevated heart rate boosts the metabolism and fat burning.

Why Inferno Hot Pilates?

We do everything sitting down: working, eating, travelling and socialising. As a result, our main muscle groups such as the glutes, abdominal and pelvic floor muscles become deactivated.

This deactivation leads to many health problems. These include, among others, excess weight, back pain, faster degeneration of the bones and joints (osteoporosis) and even pelvic floor dysfunction.

In most cases, however, prevention is the easiest cure! We start by strengthening the glutes, abdominal and pelvic floor muscles, which helps to support the hips, back, spine, organs and all of our essential bodily functions.

The results are that back pain, poor posture, weight problems and weak muscles are eliminated. You gain strength, flexibility, range of motion and mental awareness, and increase your longevity, vitality and quality of life!

Who can practise Inferno Hot Pilates?

Anyone can practise Inferno Hot Pilates, as it is a low-impact class (no jumping) that focuses on strengthening and healing the body. This is achieved through fundamental movements that create a connection between mind and body.

The exercises are suitable for every fitness level! You start slowly and increase the intensity of the exercises over time. The classes are always focused on correct body alignment, and all of our teachers are certified directly by Gabriella Walters, the founder of Inferno Hot Pilates.

What can you expect in one of our hot Inferno Pilates classes?

HEAT! The room is 35 degrees Celsius with 40% humidity to increase blood circulation and relax the muscles, which increases control over them and reduces the risk of injury.

INFERNO! You will feel a burning in your muscles the whole time. That is the goal. If it burns, it's working!

MUSIC! While you train, you will hear motivating music that adds to the fun factor and the great energy of the class!

HIIT!, also known as high-intensity interval training, is a training technique in which you give it your all. That means one hundred percent effort through fast, intense bursts of exercise, followed by short recovery periods.

HIIT gets and keeps the heart rate high and burns more fat in less time. The metabolism stays elevated for hours afterwards. It is an incredibly efficient way to train.

Because you work in fast bursts with low impact, this can improve endurance without straining the heart and body. HIIT cardio supports the heart's efficiency and supplies the muscles with oxygen more quickly.

CARDIO! Time is a big deal these days and most of us have very little of it to spare. Cardiovascular training is known for burning fat and calories to support weight loss. It strengthens the heart so that it doesn't have to work as hard to pump blood, increases lung capacity and helps to reduce the risk of heart attack, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes and some forms of cancer. At IHP we do our cardio in what's called Tabata, so it only takes 4 minutes to be equivalent to 30 minutes of average cardio.

TABATA! Tabata is a specific high-intensity interval training inspired by Dr. Izumi Tabata. It is always performed in 4-minute blocks with 8 rounds of 20 seconds at full high intensity and 10 seconds of rest (or active recovery). Dr. Tabata used this protocol in his 1996 study of athletes to see whether it would improve the skaters' performance. He found that this method has the greatest impact on improving the skaters' speed. Moreover, the skaters in the poorest condition improved the most.

LOW IMPACT! Low-impact exercises are less taxing on the body, especially on our joints, and are a great way to get into a heart-pumping workout while reducing the risk of injury. You've probably heard us describe it as always keeping one hand or one foot on the floor. This way there are no excessive jolts or impacts on the joints.

Everyone benefits from this class and can do it! So what are you waiting for? Let's go!
