Bikram Yoga

What is Bikram Yoga?

26 postures in 90 minutes at 40°C

Bikram Yoga comprises a sequence of 26 classic Hatha yoga exercises performed in a room heated to 40 degrees.

Developed by the internationally renowned yoga master Bikram Choudhury, the series combines postures and breathing exercises that train and keep the body, mind and spirit fit.

Bikram Yoga is based on a scientifically grounded approach to promoting health and is known for its numerous health benefits as well as its exceptional ability to train and calm the mind.

The sequence has a strong therapeutic effect and is suitable for people of every level, whether beginner or advanced. People with injuries, a lack of fitness or serious health problems in particular often feel the astonishing effects of Bikram Yoga first.

The 26 exercises work synergistically and progressively to ensure a comprehensive workout of all the body's systems and to promote optimal health and well-being.

The sequence of exercises is designed so that each posture prepares the muscles and joints for the next, enabling a safe and deeper stretch. Bikram Yoga also stretches, compresses and massages the internal organs, stimulates the cardiovascular system and activates the endocrine and nervous systems.

By the end of each class, every muscle, bone, joint, gland and organ has been worked, while fresh, oxygen-rich blood is pumped to every cell of the body, leading to a comprehensive restoration of health.
