Alex LacknerGuest Teacher
Half-Austrian/Half-Hungarian, Alex has practised or tried out just about any sport you can imagine. By the age of 18, he had already been part of ice hockey, soccer, tennis & baseball teams on a competitional level. At age 22 he worked as a windsurfing instructor in Greece, and aged 25 he successfully completed the Vienna City Marathon. 2005 he graduated from medical school with a bachelor's degree in physical therapy and has since been confronted with "junkyard bodies & screw-loose brains" on a daily basis. In April 2009 he found himself in his first Bikram Yoga class, which turned out to be a lifechanging experience and turned his life around once again. Unfulfilled by standard treatment methods, he took a 6-month sabbatical from his job to enroll in Bikram's 2011 Teacher Training in Los Angeles, followed up with a journey through the Western US, including first teaching experiences in San Francisco, Phoenix & Portland. Aside from teaching & practising yoga, Alex loves rock music, spicy food and spending time in the Great Outdoors.
I've always enjoyed the stretching part of sports, but as most people, i didn't really practise it with enough vigour. I was instantly fascinated by Bikram Yoga, on a personal as well as on a professional level, since it's not only an uncompromised workout but also an effective therepeutic method. At the same time, it's so much more than just a workout – where medical science stops, Yoga Science begins. If you start practising Yoga, you're embarking on a fascinating journey to discover yourself and realize your full potential.
